What is Abondance AOP?

Abondance AOP is a semi-hard, unpasteurised cow's milk cheese.
Also called tomme d'Abondance, it has a light yellow colour with a firm and supple texture.
Abondance AOP has a fruity, buttery flavour with a hint of hazelnut.

Where is Abondance AOP made?

Abondance AOP is made exclusively in a small part of the Haute Savoie region, in the French Alps: the Abondance valley.

How is Abondance AOP made?

Abondance AOP has a long history dating back to the 11th century.
AOP since 1990, the milk used in Abondance cheese production can only come from the Abondance breed of cows which are grazing on alpine pastures.
Made by small artisan farmers only it matures for at least 3 months in special cellars on shelves made of spruce.

How to serve Abondance AOP?

Abondance AOP will go very well with walnut bread. It is great in fondue and baked dishes. You may also enjoy it in salad and of course in a gourmet baguette sandwich with some charcuterie.
Abondance AOP pairs very well with a Cabernet Sauvignon or a dry white.
