L’Artisan Mountain Man is made by Matthieu Megard, a French cheesemaker who set up his fromagerie in Victoria and never compromised on craft. Using certified organic pasteurised cow’s milk, he produces a Reblochon-style cheese that is surprisingly complex: meaty and round on the palate, soft and oozy in texture, with just enough pungency to remind you it means business.
It has won awards. It is made by hand. And it melts beautifully.
How to Enjoy L’Artisan Mountain Man?
On a cheese board
Serve with crusty bread, fresh fruit and a touch of honey. Bring it to room temperature so the texture softens and the aroma develops.
In a Tartiflette
This is where Mountain Man truly shines. Layer with potatoes, smoked bacon and onions, then bake until molten and golden. We have a Tartiflette recipe if you need one.
Wine pairing
Try it with a juicy Pinot Noir, a light red from Burgundy or a crisp sparkling wine.

Fast postage, the cheese stayed cool from QLD to TAS.
We got Mountain Man to make tartiflette, it was perfect. Not too strong, but had a good depth of flavour. A good replacement for roblochon ♥️
