Torndirrup Appenzelle

Torndirrup Appenzelle from award winning Dellendale Creamery in Western Australia.

Wine or cider is applied to the wheels of this local version of Swiss appenzeller while they cure. It gives Torndirrup Appenzelle a unique Swiss-style golden wash-rind and butterscotch and sweet pineapple notes to it.

Serving suggestion: It’s a great cheese on its own, or for melting and grilling. Add a few slices of apples and pears to your tasting, and you will be in heaven.

Wine Pairing: Appenzeller pairs perfectly with Riesling or a hard cider. If you prefer red wine, choose a fruity variety such as a Pinot Noir or a Rhone.
