Description
Duck Foie Gras Le Bloc Mi-cuit 200g from Castaing.
Creamy and flavoursome, experience what Foie gras should really taste like.
This is a Foie Gras Mi-Cuit from South West of France.
As it is a semi-cooked (Mi-Cuit) Foie Gras, it doesn't lose flavour and tastes much better than the fully cooked Foie Gras in glass jar.
How do you eat Foie Gras?
It is ready to eat and you can enjoy it as is on slightly toasted bread or with some nice Onion confit with Truffle or Black Cherry Jam !
You may also want to pan fry it like a master chef and top up some beautiful eye fillet for a Tournedo Rossini.
When you pan fry Foie Gras, use a very hot pan and leave it about 30 seconds on each sides. That's it otherwise it will melt.
If you want to bother but it is worth it, you can then de-glaze the pan with some red wine or old port for a fantastic sauce.
Add some shallots previously soften with butter and simmer gently till your happy with the consistency of the sauce. Enjoy!
Would you have some leftovers?
Slice it, wrap it tight and freeze it so it is available whenever you need it. Yes, freezing this Foie Gras won't affect its flavour or texture.
How much Foie Gras per person?
You should plan between 50g and 75g of Foie Gras per person and even a bit more for Christmas or New year celebration!
