What is Brillat-Savarin?
Brillat-Savarin is a soft, dense creamy and buttery triple cream cheese made from cow's milk.
Brillat-Savarin known through different names in the 19th century, was renamed by French cheese-maker Henri Androuët to celebrate the memory of famous food writer and cheese lover Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin.
Where is Brillat-Savarin made?
Brillat-Savarin cheese is made in the French region of Burgundy. An AOP project has been launched and is under review to protect its unique character.
How is Brillat-Savarin made?
Brillat-Savarin is made of whole milk. Creme fraiche is added to increase the fat content which gives it an intense creamy and buttery flavour.
How to serve Brillat-Savarin?
Brillat-Savarin is to enjoy with fresh bread but you can even indulge by scooping it with a spoon!Pair Brillat-Savarin cheese with Champagne or light fruity whites.
Brillat-Savarin full wheel is about 500g.
